Charlie Turner led the way at the prestigious and televised London Cup race meeting at the famous Rye House Stadium on his Ogden prepared engine.
The London Cup has been one of the race meetings in the UK karting calendar for decades and Protrain Driver Charlie Turner first participated last year finishing as a close runner up and has looked forward to his return all year.
Practice and qualifying tempted the team to think it might not be Charlie’s weekend but from on the grid 14th he charged through the field for two thirds in the heats. Quickly on the leaders bumper in the pre final Charlie took the lead on lap 13 and keep the important pole position for the final.
The final became domination with Charlie pulling out almost 5 seconds to record his first and deserved London Cup victory and the television programme will be eagerly awaited.
Charlie’s Dad said “it was a great meeting which Charlie deserved his victory after dominating the finals, it s a great follow on from Charlie’s success at the last Super One round where he narrowly missed a podium and will take him into the final Super One round with renewed confidence.”
