Another Victory for Charlie Eastwood

Another stunning victory for Formula K driver Charlie Eastwood.

Whilton Mill was once again the scene of another Protrain Senior Max win for Formula K driver Charlie Eastwood.

Eastwood’s day started off badly with him taking a hard knock in heat 1 causing his chain to come off resulting in a DNF. Despite this setback he went on to come from 17th to fifth in heat 2 also setting the fastest lap and coming from fifth to win his third heat.

The final saw another demonstration of karting excellence as the Formula K driver came through from ninth to first in the first few laps setting yet another fastest lap in the process and taking the chequered flag well ahead of the competition. Eastwoods dominance in the Formula K once again evidences what a superb driver he is and the strength of this brilliant Kart. He moves on to Super 1 with every reason to be optimistic.

Our cadet Joe Turney secured his best finish after a very good days racing. After three well contested heats he qualified in fourth place; a downpour saw the final red flagged temporarily to allow for wet tyres and following the restart he went on to take sixth place.

Mini max driver Alex Stott was not so fortunate this weekend. He also performed superbly in his heats and started the final in third place. As he avoided a spinning kart he was struck by another and the resulting damage ended his final. His performance and times were brilliant all weekend positioning him as a serious contender in next weekends Super 1.

Protrain moves on to Super 1 at Whilton Mill next weekend with Charlie Eastwood, Ed Brand, Reece Wade and Jack Saffery in Senior Max and William Creighton and Alex Stott in Mini Max. They are all superb drivers capable of victory.

Gary Chapman said afterwards "We move onto Super 1 very excited at the prospect of seeing the Formula K and our drivers pitched against the best of the rest. The performance to date has been remarkable and it really is showing itself as being the kart to be on, the top drivers on this kart are producing incredible results"
