Czech Senior Max Champion Jiri Forman’s first outing with Protrain racing lived up to everyone’s expectations with his best ever UK finish and fastest laptime at Larkhall in his Formula K debut.
The 18 year old from Mlada Boleslav who recently joined the Formula K race team was amazed at how easy the kart was to settle into and immediately set some very impressive lap times. Early weather conditions were difficult but in all conditions and against a truly competitive field Jiri was able to maximise his performance and finished 7th in final one and 8th in final two.
Team manager Gary Chapman said, “It's a pleasure to have Jiri on the team, he is a very mature and capable driver. Seeing what these talented drivers achieve with the FK kart reinforces the decision I made last winter to run them."

Protrain’s other Senior Max drivers experienced very mixed results with Jack Aitken and Jack Saffery's early promise being denied and Charlie Eastwood suffering an engine seizure on lap three when challenging for the lead; a massive disappointment for Charlie and the team. Ed Brand took the spoils for the seniors with a solid fourth place in the final coming from ninth on the grid.

In Mini Max, William Creighton continued to show great improvement and despite losing a heat and finding himself in the repercharge produced a great drive to finish 17th in final one and a well deserved 11th in final two. Alex Stott also shone with his best Super One finish of 6th in final one and 5th in final two. Alex and William both showed great pace all weekend in extremely mixed weather conditions against a field where often only 1 second separated virtually the entire field; the future is surely looking very good for these two talented young drivers.
The European team moves onto Kristianstad where senior drivers Charlie Eastwood and Sabedin Berat will be joined by Canadian Champion Jesse Lazare and junior driver Max Aitken will be joined by Austrian Champion Thomas Preining. The UK team moves onto Shenington and Whilton Mill.
