Is this is a record or not? but Georgie Chapman winning a Midland Championship, is the third generation of the Chapman family to do so. Georgie's Dad, Gary won three Midland Championships in the 1980s in 100 Britain and 100 National, and granddad, Steve, won one in the 1990s in 125 Europa.
Georgie was racing in the prestigeous Midland Championships at the Rissington kart circuit in the MSA Tyro class. After two wins and a second in her heats it was hoped that a final victory would follow. But increasing the tension of her supporters this looked unlikely after she could find a way around second pole man Robbie Sims after he had goit the jump on her at the start. But coming inot the last but one corner Georgie managed to squize up his iunside and claim a unique victory.
It may also be the first time a young lady has ever won the Championship before. Well done Georgie.
